Their Secret Obsession (A Reverse Harem)

Chapter 0340

Chase's POV

"Get Lottie out of here!" Liam yelled to Kane and Knox. I spared a quick glance to make sure they were moving, but my attention was torn between the battle and the unpredictable energy emanating from Lottie.

"We need to go, now!" Kane grabbed Lottie's hand, urgency dripping from his voice. The moment their hands touched, a brilliant light flared between them, even brighter than before. Kane's eyes widened as he felt a surge of power coursing through her. He quickly checked her hand for sparks or any sign of danger.

"I feel nothing but strength and power. "He declared as his eyes lifted to meet his mate. "What is this?" he murmured, bewildered.

"But-" she protested, her eyes wide with worry. The purple glow in her eyes was fading, but sparks still danced at her fingertips. "I don't understand." She whispered back, looking between her and Kane "Come on!" Knox urged, pulling her toward the door.

"Go!" I insisted, dodging a blast of dark energy Astaroth hurled in our direction.

"You dare attack me?" Astaroth snarled, his eyes flashing with rage. He unleashed a wave of force that sent us skidding backwards. The ground trembled, cracks spiderwebbing across the marble floor.

"You've overstepped!" he roared. His voice echoed like thunder, and shadows began to coalesce around him, twisting and writhing as if alive. The darkness seemed to reach out with clawed hands, ready to envelop us.

"We are done with your games!" I shot back, regaining my footing. My eyes darted briefly to Lottie; she was near the door but still watching us with a mix of fear and defiance. I noticed the faint flicker of purple at her fingertips, and a knot of worry tightened in my chest. Liam caught my eye, his expression mirroring my concern-we had to keep an eye on her in case it happened again. Liam and I shared a quick nod-we had to end this, now.

Adam flanked him from the left, while Liam circled to the right. We moved in unison, each attack calculated to keep Astaroth off balance. We had trained as a team since the age of two. We knew how to work a mark to our advantage and were damn good at it. As this bottom feeder was about to find out.

"Enough!" Astaroth bellowed. The shadows around him surged forward, as if given life by his fury. They swirled and twisted, forming barriers and striking out like vipers.

He slammed his fist into the ground, and a shockwave rippled outward. The force knocked us off our feet, and I heard Lottie scream as the door behind her slammed shut with a resounding boom.

"You're not leaving until you give me answers!" Astaroth hissed, his composure unravelling.

"What's the matter, Astaroth? Scared we've found a way around your little schemes?" I scrambled to my feet, adrenaline surging.

"You think you can outsmart me?" His eyes burned with fury. He extended a hand toward Knox, who was shielding Lottie behind him. An invisible force yanked Knox forward, dragging him across the floor despite his struggles.

"Knox!" Lottie cried out, desperation in her voice. She reached out helplessly, her fingers igniting with purple sparks once more. The glow intensified, reflecting the panic in her eyes.

"Let him go!" Kane shouted, his eyes wild and unmatched with rage. Astaroth's magic gripped Knox by the collar, eyes narrowing as he inspected him closely.

"This is impossible," he muttered. "I

can't even smell the darkness on

you." His features twisted in confusion and frustration. Veins bulged at his temples, and his eyes darted erratically over Knox's face. Knox met his gaze with unflinching hatred and disgust.

"You're not as all-knowing as you think," Knox spat through a hoarse throat.

"Fucking wolves." Asatroth roared, clearly tightening his invisible grip on Chase.

"Get your hands off me!" Knox glared back. Astaroth placed his palms on either side of Knox's head, fingers digging into his temples.

"I'll find out what's been hidden," Astaroth growled menacingly.

"Stop it!" Lottie screamed, tears

streaming down her face. The purple flickers around her hands erupted into a bright, pulsating glow that illuminated the entire chamber The intensity of the light was almost blinding, and I could feel the raw energy radiating from her, noveldrama

With chaos erupting in the room, panic erupted within me as I considered that the blind spot Selene granted us might not extend to Knox.

"Break his focus!" I shouted to Liam and Adam. They exchanged a brief glance before nodding.

"On it!" Liam replied, launching himself at Astaroth. He moved with lightning speed, aiming a powerful kick at Astaroth's side.

Astaroth flicked his wrist, sending Liam crashing into a pillar. Adam threw an ornament aimed straight for Astaroth's head, but it disintegrated mid-air. Our eyes widened in shock and fear. If physical attacks wouldn't work, we were running out of options. "Pathetic," Astaroth sneered. Desperation clawed at me. I had to do something.

"Lottie, remember Selene's words!" I called out, hoping she remembered.

"What?" Liam asked, glaring at me from where he lay. I got it and why he looked puzzled, but there was no time to explain. He didn't know what only Lottie and I would understand. In the dreams I'd had, I was never alone with Selene; Lottie was there too, training in ways that hadn't made sense until now-until I saw the purple sparks.

"You think I was alone in those dreams..." I snapped as I met Liam's gaze before returning to look at Lottie, confusion flickering in her eyes before determination set in. She closed her eyes, and a soft, silvery glow began to emanate from her. "Stop." Astaroth noticed, his attention wavering. He hesitated, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his face.

"What are you doing?" he demanded, irritation colouring his tone. He took a step toward her, momentarily releasing his grip on Knox.

"Taking back control," she said firmly. Her voice was steady, filled with resolution and determination. The glow around her intensified, and the very air seemed to hum with power.
